语法含义

「〜ほど〜ない(比較)」表示某事物的程度没有达到另一事物的程度。
可以理解为“不到……的程度”。
这个语法用来进行比较,强调某事物的程度不如另一事物。
比如,如果说“这个电影不到三小时”,就是说这个电影没有达到三小时的长度。
又比如,“这个菜不到辣到让人喝水”,就是说这个菜的辣度没有到需要喝水的程度。

英译

The grammar pattern "~ほど~ない" is used to express a comparison between two things, indicating that one thing is not as much as the other.
It can be translated as "not as ~ as" in English.
