The grammar pattern "~あまり" is used to express the idea of "not very" or "not much" in Japanese.
It is often used with negative verbs to indicate that something is not done very often or to a great extent.
For example, if you say "あのレストランは高いので、行きません。" (Ano resutoran wa takai node, ikimasen), it means "I don't go to that restaurant because it's expensive.
