"〜はともかくとして" is a Japanese grammar pattern that is used to set aside a particular topic or issue and focus on another one.
It can be translated as "leaving aside" or "setting aside" in English.
This structure is often used to acknowledge a certain point but then shift the focus to a different aspect of the conversation.
